Privacy Policy
Last updated: 4 October 2026
Apex Biolabs, ABN 30 673 462 300 (“we”) respects your privacy. This policy explains how we collect, use, disclose and protect personal information in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles.
Information we collect
- Contact and delivery details: name, email, phone number, shipping and billing addresses, company or institution.
- Order details: products purchased, order history and correspondence.
- Account details: login email and a hashed password.
- Payment information is processed by our payment provider. We do not store full card numbers.
- Technical data: IP address and browser and device details, recorded by our website host for security and to run the Site.
- Email list: your email address if you join our email list, and, if you have opted in, the items in your cart so we can send a cart reminder.
How we use it
- To process, ship and support your orders, including sending order and shipping emails.
- To manage your account and respond to enquiries.
- To prevent fraud and to enforce our research-use terms.
- With your consent, to send marketing emails (you can unsubscribe at any time).
Marketing emails
We collect email addresses for marketing only from people who opt in: by joining our email list on the Site, or by ticking the marketing box at checkout. We use your address to send your welcome code, news about new batches and lab reports, occasional offers, and, if you leave items in your cart, one reminder email. We do not sell or rent your email address.
In line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth), every marketing email identifies Apex BioLabs and includes a one-click unsubscribe link. You can unsubscribe at any time using that link or by emailing info@apexbiolabs.com.au. Unsubscribing does not stop order emails such as confirmations, payment details and shipping updates.
Who we share it with
We share only what is needed with: our payment provider; our delivery partner, Australia Post; and our website host and email provider. Some of these providers may store data outside Australia. We take reasonable steps to ensure they protect it.
Cookies
We use essential cookies and similar browser storage to run the cart, checkout and login, to remember that you have confirmed you are 18 or older, and, if you join our email list, to remember your sign-up so your welcome code can be applied and the sign-up pop-up is not shown again. We do not currently use analytics or advertising cookies. If we introduce them, we will ask for your consent first and update this policy.
Security and retention
The Site uses HTTPS encryption. We keep order records for as long as required for tax and legal purposes, then delete or de-identify them.
Access, correction and complaints
You may request access to or correction of your personal information by emailing info@apexbiolabs.com.au. If you have a complaint, contact us first; we will respond within 30 days. If you are not satisfied, you can contact the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (oaic.gov.au).
