Nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide (NAD+) is the oxidised form of a coenzyme central to cellular redox chemistry, and a standard reagent in biochemical and cell-based research.

Research background
NAD+ is the oxidised form of nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, a coenzyme that carries electrons in the redox reactions of glycolysis, the citric acid cycle and oxidative phosphorylation. It is also consumed as a substrate by sirtuins, PARP enzymes and CD38, which connects it to research on cell signalling, DNA-repair enzymes and cellular ageing.
