Description
LL-37 is a 37-amino-acid peptide corresponding to the C-terminal region of human cathelicidin (hCAP18). It is a reference compound in laboratory research on host-defence peptides.
Supplied as 10 mg of lyophilised powder in a 3 mL vial.
Research background
LL-37 is the 37-residue peptide released from the C-terminus of hCAP18, the only cathelicidin found in humans. It is positively charged and folds into an amphipathic alpha-helix in membrane environments. It is studied in research on antimicrobial peptides, peptide-membrane interactions and innate immune signalling.
